Farmoor 7th May - Spotted Sandpiper

Dai John found a Spotted Sandpiper on F2, along the east shore at around 10:15 a.m. This is the first record since July 1990.

It was seen briefly on several occasions after Dai first found it though it would continually flush when a car or walker went past it. Last seen about an hour after being first found, there's been no further sign since despite extensive searching. One has now turned up at Draycote in Warks. which may be the same bird though the timing seems wrong given when it was last seen.
