Port Meadow & Burgess Field 2nd Jan 1.30-4pm
Flooding up to near Wolvercoate, where the feeding BH Gulls were concentrated along with 1 adult Med Gull; observed from NW Burgess Field. Wigeon and Teal concentrated just west of Field and 9 Shoveler joined them 3.47. Gull roost started to build well to north (too distant). Bar-tailed Godwit roosting near mid tree of the three large ones in NW of Port Meadow (scope only). At present, birding access from North is advised and as for Burgess Field.... the reported Waxwing would about treble all the birds I saw in that particular 'empty quarter'!
