Waxwing Adderbury


After chasing the flock of Waxwings around south Banbury I drove down to Adderbury to find one perched at the top of the very tall trees at the traffic lights (A4260/Aynho junction). There may have been a couple more but they flew before I got the bins onto the one.

Male Merlin flew across the A4260 Oxford Road just south of Berry Hill Road (Milton turning)  south of Adderbury at around 4pm today.  (per Tony Clark)...

Great White Egret flew east over Adderbury this evening (per Tom Coyne and Simon Parker). Flew in the approximate direction of Kings Sutton, so may have stopped to roost at/near the River Cherwell there. I will try to have a look for it tomorrow. No...

Myself and the Gnome have counted our coppers jars, searched down the backs of the sofas for change, and are offering up a bounty of something alcoholic and fizzy for the first Oxfordshire Waxwing photo of this winter on the Log... No sign of any Waxwings...
